Many members of the elite and privileged consider caviar as part of their meals. Just watch any film scene in a luxurious mansion or hotel and caviar will surely be mentioned. Caviar definitely sounds classy but what exactly is it? What flavor does it bring out when added to a recipe?
What exactly is caviar?
Caviar is made up of salted, non-fertilized, and processed sturgeon roe. The cheaper versions are made of pasteurized roe. Caviar’s four types are starlet, sevruga, osetra, and beluga. Beluga is the most expensive since it is only found in the Caspian Sea. The starlet is the next most expensive and once had the honor of only being served to Austrian emperors, Iranian shahs, and Russian Czars. If the caviar is pasteurized, this means it was partially cooked. The partial cooking gives it a different texture. Pressed caviar, on the other hand, is made of damaged eggs and are mixed with different roe types.
Popular gourmet dishes with caviar
Caviar aficionados would recommend Iranian and Russian caviar, considering they are the rarest of them all. American caviar is also popular among caviar lovers. Caviar is usually eaten as a side dish and match with most gourmet meals.
Caviar is a tasty and classy experience that everyone should try at least once in their lives. Although it may seem a bit too pricey, the taste is unique and worth remembering. It’s only once that you’ll be able to say that you’ve tasted something from the Caspian Sea. Its source and one-of-a-kind preparation make the price worth it.

The cheese fondue is a delicious Swiss dish with a rich history. Its roots can be traced back to the 18th century. As Switzerland became industrialized, the concept behind cheese fondue was popularized by cheese and wine makers. By the 20th century, many Swiss towns and cantons offered their own varieties of the cheese fondue, using the many available local ingredients such as cheese and wine.
Ingredients of a basic cheese fondue
A cheese fondue usually consists of a blend of different cheese types, seasoning, and wine. Corn flour, potato starch, or corn starch is added into the mixture so as to avoid separation. The mixture is then diluted by adding in white wine, beer, or kirsch. For every one person, the ideal mixture consists of 100 ml white wine. This is then mixed into 200 grams of hard and semi-hard cheese such as raclette, Emmental, or Vacherin.
Tips to create the perfect cheese fondue
To create the perfect cheese fondue, it should be continuously stirred as it is heated in a caquelon. Bread or other food items are then cut into little pieces, and are dipped into the mixture with a fondue fork. You can also experiment with various types of hard and semi-hard cheese to get that taste you are looking for.
Because the cheese fondue is a communal dish, certain social rules or etiquette are followed by the Swiss. The tongue or lips shouldn't touch the fondue fork, and once a food item has been dipped and tasted, it's considered rude to dip it again into the fondue.

Ingredients for a basic DIY gourmet grilled cheese sandwich
Of course, the basic necessities for making gourmet grilled cheese sandwich are cheese and bread. But then again, there are so many variations for these already. For your cheese, you can try gruyere, mozzarella, Swiss, Emmental, gouda, and camembert. For your bread, you can try sourdough, baguette, and focaccia. These can be good alternatives to the usual cheddar and commercial loaf bread.
Other worthy ingredients to add in your sandwich
You can spice up your gourmet grilled cheese sandwich with an additional layer of cream cheese or soft cheese. For a fruity variety, add slices of avocado, apple, or mangoes to your sandwich. Tomatoes also do wonders in spicing up your gourmet grilled sandwich.
Tips in grilling cheese sandwiches
When grilling your gourmet grilled cheese sandwich, make sure to flip your sandwich only once. Each side should already be done correctly before you flip. Make sure to grill up only until the bread is toasted enough. Do not burn and definitely do not wait for the cheese to fully melt.

Chinese gourmet dishes are noted as among the world's authentic and finest fine dining cuisines. The recipes for such excellent Chinese specialties were handed down by Chinese ancestors to the present culinary experts. The selection of delicious and appealing Chinese gourmet cuisines are not only served in fine dining establishments in China, but also by other international restaurants in the world. Moreover, Chinese gourmet dishes originated from four different regions of the country: the Teochew, Cantonese, Hokkien, and Hakka.
It has been known thousands of years ago that Chinese specialty dishes originated from the Chinese royalties, then filtered down through the homes of some powerful and rich private homes. This further spread and went on to the fine dining restaurants, where only the privileged are entertained. Today's Chinese gourmet dining is an opulent and lavish affair, which usually consists of eight to ten course meals. One dish that is specially favored by many royals or important people (like me) is the Chinese Cantonese short ribs. This is also among the preferred dish in Chinese gourmet dining.
3 pounds beef short ribs, cut in 1/2inch slices
salt and ground pepper
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
Marinade Ingredients:
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
3 tablespoons plum sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon chili paste
1 tablespoon garlic
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1 bunch cilantro, stems trimmed and chopped
1 bunch scallions, chopped
When all the ingredients are ready, you need to preheat the oven to 350F. You can now season the beef ribs with pepper and salt. Lay the seasoned ribs across the baking sheet or roasting pan rack, then bake for 10 minutes. In a bowl, you need to mix the lemon juice, the red pepper flakes, and water. Afterward, you can brush the rib tops with the mixture and bake for another 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, you can set aside the beef ribs to cool. Moreover, you need to combine all the ingredients for marinade in a separate bowl. You need to add the roasted ribs, then toss to cover the ribs. Cover the bowl with a plastic wrapper, then refrigerate for a at least four hours. When your done grilling the ribs, you and your family can now enjoy the delicious Cantonese short ribs.

So, it is best to make proper inquires and dining arrangements in the restaurants you wish to dine in. Other considerations include your accounts with the wine preference and culinary taste of your dining companions; that is, if you don't like to eat out alone. You should also take note of how light, sweet, tannic, heavy, and acidic the wines are in one restaurant.

There are times when I assume in selecting and ordering for best wines while dining. In Europe, I realized that the more one spends for superb wines, the more exquisite the quality is. Still, there are still ways for you to taste a decent wine for a considerable price. For instance, if you wish to taste the most renowned wines of Europe, I advise you to dine at the prime restaurants in the region. Since exquisite wines of Europe are known to be expensive, you can taste a good wine without having to purchase the entire bottle when you dine in fine restaurants.

Now there's this circulating idea that starving yourself to near death would eventually get rid of those excess flabs. Plus, it is known that skipping breakfast would even lower the cholesterol levels of your body. In this modern information age, some of us are just too damn gullible that not eating at all would be more of a better option to take than going through healthy exercising schemes. I bet you don't even know that having healthy gourmet breakfast meals is better than skipping the damn meal altogether!
Wednesday, May 2. 2007
Breakfast gourmet meals are a healthier option than skipping the meal when it comes to reducing heart failure risks and other diseases connected with high-cholesterol levels. This is because a healthy gourmet meal consists mainly of fruits and vegetables. If it has fruits and vegetables, then it must be a diet worth a lot of fibers and stuff, you know. These gibers are needed by the human body so as to cleanse itself from the impurities of everyday living. Yes, even cholesterol! Plus, having one at this time of the day is just good for your body.
Tuesday, May 1. 2007
Pure fruit juices, when taken during mornings, can reduce the risks of heart diseases, as well as even reduce cholesterol levels of the body. Now downing a good breakfast gourmet meal with fresh and 100% natural fruit juices would even be healthier for you! Add a little fruit and vegetable breakfast diet, mix it in with your gourmet breakfast meal, and top it off with a glass, or maybe even two, of natural fruit juice, and you have a body that is both fit to do work for the rest of the day, and a heart that could beat itself up for more years to come!

If you're a health buff who had just enough of good fish treats and chicken gourmet meals, I bet you wouldn't think of actual pork tenderloin as an alternative to your future gourmet meals. This is because those damn pigs don't know what good dietary eating habits are, you know. But what would annoy you more are those nutritionists who now bluntly state that actual pork tenderloin, apart from other hog cuts, is actually leaner than the skinless chicken! It really is! I don't know, but those pigs we have nowadays just might have gone a major overhaul on their diet and all.
Sunday, April 29. 2007
Hog raisers and other pork-producing establishments have made the necessary modifications on how they feed their livestock. Nutritionists these days have found out that the pork that is available in grocers and markets are now low in fat. Yes, lower in damn fat than what we had back then. This is because of new techniques in feeding livestock, specifically hogs. These nutritionists have made the actual research to back up their claims, you know. The USDA has found out that actual pork tenderloin, apart from other pork cuts, is even leaner than chicken, or even the leanest portions of actual skinless chicken!
Saturday, April 28. 2007
Skinless chicken, specifically the breast portion of it, actually contains more fat than pork tenderloin. The USDA has found out that every 4 ounces (of serving) of tasty pork tenderloin has 3 grams of damn fat. This is in comparison to the 3-gram fat to be found on higher, or heavier, chicken breast servings. Yes, even the skinless type. With this, people are no longer limited when it comes to healthy gourmet meals! After all, wouldn't food types that are leaner than skinless chicken be a worthy addition to your future gourmet meals? Aside from fish, that is.

Heartburn has been known to deprive us with the privilege of eating the food we love, such as gourmet chocolate, greasy fast food meals, chunky pork chops, etc. Even drinking red wine isn't among the top choices of doctors when it comes to treating heartburn patients. But a group of medical researchers, doctors even, have told that there actually is no substantial proof that avoiding gourmet chocolate could reduce the chances of heart diseases, specifically heartburn. Total abstinence could not even make it actually go away, or at least that's what they say. So go on right ahead and buy yourself a box of gourmet chocolate, which is best after gourmet meals.
Thursday, April 26. 2007
Eating gourmet chocolate wouldn't make heartburn actually worse, you know. But of course, if you're damn overweight and all, you could easily lose some of those pounds to reduce the risk of heartburn. A change of dietary lifestyle does not have any effect whatsoever on heartburn, except, of course, if you have this bad reaction to some food types, that is. Plus, these medical researchers have also found out that sleeping habits, specifically sleeping positions, affects heartburn risk levels more than eating gourmet chocolate. So don't end up thinking of how you'd end up dead after a good gourmet chocolate treat now.

We all have this idea that drinking gourmet red wine is healthy as long as it is taken in moderation. In this modern information age, ideas of the past are constantly being revised and modified either to suit our current needs, or just maybe our damn addictions! Recent studies have shown that drinking gourmet red wine is as natural as breathing. Yes, our body needs it as much as it needs sleep and breathable air, or at least we're hooked up with what drinking this shit provides our damn bodies with!
